Every day, care teams using the Whzan Blue Box record important information about the people they support.
It might be a resident’s blood pressure, a client’s temperature or a set of observations taken because someone does not seem quite themselves.
That information needs to be available to the right people, but it also needs to be handled carefully. Whzan is designed to help care homes, homecare providers and the NHS do both.
Securely stored in the UK
Information recorded through Whzan is stored securely in Microsoft Azure’s UK data centres.
This gives care providers confidence that the information they rely on is held within a secure, UK-based cloud environment.
For staff, the process is simple. They take and record an observation, then the information is made available to authorised users who need it to support that person’s care.

Clear roles and responsibilities
The care provider remains responsible for the information it records and how it is used.
Whzan provides the technology that processes and stores that information on the provider’s behalf.
This means care homes and homecare organisations stay in control of their data, while Whzan provides the systems and safeguards needed to support them.
Only the usage information we need
The only usage information Whzan collects is the number of observations taken through the platform.
This helps us understand how the system is being used and allows us to support clients more effectively.
For example, it can help us identify when a service may need technical support, understand how well a new implementation is being adopted, see where extra guidance or training may be useful and plan ahead so the platform continues to run reliably.
We do not access or store confidential client information for our own purposes.
Helping care teams use information well
Whzan helps providers make important care information available to authorised users.
In practice, that could mean helping a care home team share clear observations when speaking to a clinician, or helping a homecare provider respond more confidently when a client’s health appears to be changing.
The aim is straightforward: the right information, available to the right people, when it is needed.
Built around recognised standards
Whzan’s approach to data security and quality is supported by recognised standards, including Cyber Essentials Plus, the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit, and an ISO 13485:2016 certified quality management system.
These provide further assurance that information security, risk and quality are managed through clear, regularly reviewed processes.
Supporting good governance
GDPR is not just about policies and paperwork. It is about making sure people’s information is treated with care.
For providers, that means being able to explain where information is stored, who can access it and how it is being protected.
Whzan supports that responsibility through secure UK-based hosting, controlled access and clear data-processing arrangements.
Because behind every observation is a real person. Protecting their information is part of protecting their dignity, their confidence and the quality of care they receive.
