Welcoming our new CEO - Alexander Schmid

We’re delighted to welcome Alex Schmid as the new Chief Executive Officer of Whzan Digital Health.

Alex joins Whzan at a time of real momentum, as we continue to grow and strengthen our mission to bridge the gap between private and public health - helping carers, providers, and clinicians deliver more connected, proactive care.

With a background that blends law, leadership and technology, Alex brings both professional depth and entrepreneurial energy to the role. He began his career as a Solicitor at Macfarlanes, working on corporate and commercial transactions before moving into the world of innovation and digital health.

Most recently, he co-founded and led Contro, a telehealth platform that provided virtual consultations and medication services to thousands of patients. Under his leadership, the company grew rapidly, forged partnerships with major healthcare providers, and was later acquired by Zapmed.

Alex describes himself as “a builder at heart”, someone who loves working with talented teams to turn good ideas into meaningful change. That people-first approach makes him a perfect fit for Whzan’s culture and ambition.
