SureCare, a leading provider of domiciliary care services, has partnered with Whzan Digital Health to equip its care workers with remote patient monitoring technology. The partnership will enable SureCare's care teams to conduct NHS-validated wellness checks for clients in their own homes, using Whzan's portable Blue Box.

On the partnership, SureCare CEO Gary Farrer said: "We’re pleased to begin rolling out new Digital Health Check services throughout our nationwide network. The checks that can be carried out by our care teams using the Blue Boxes really complement our home care services, and reassure SureCare clients and their families of our commitment to caring for them. Like many other businesses today, care providers are looking towards diversifying their services, and the ability to offer these health checks is another string to our bow."

The partnership brings a range of benefits to SureCare's clients and their families. By giving care workers access to NHS-validated assessment tools designed for non-clinical users, clients receive more consistent health monitoring from the comfort of their own homes. Early identification of changes in health enables faster intervention, while families gain peace of mind knowing their loved ones are being monitored using trusted, NHS-validated technology.

For SureCare's care teams, the Whzan system removes complexity from health monitoring. Care workers can conduct assessments confidently, with results that integrate seamlessly with care plans and ensure clear communication with healthcare professionals.

Sarah Castelow, Registered Manager at SureCare Central Cheshire, said: "We’ve been using the Blue Box to monitor the stats of our clients in a few different ways. For some clients, using the blue box gives them reassurance and some just love having the extra TLC they get from us checking their health signs. We are really enjoying using the Blue Box and proud to be able to share our experiences of being the first branch to take this forward.”

Alexander Schmid, CEO of Whzan, said: "We are thrilled to partner with SureCare to deploy the Blue Box and wellness checks across their franchise network throughout the UK. SureCare shares our commitment to raising the standard of domiciliary care, and this partnership ensures that clients receiving care at home benefit from the same NHS-validated health monitoring trusted by clinicians. It is partnerships like this that demonstrate the transformative impact our Blue Box and remote monitoring technology can have across the UK home care sector."

The rollout begins in March, with training and onboarding support provided by Whzan to ensure care teams feel confident using the technology from day one.

Early action by Walfinch carers gives family more time together https://www.whzan.uk/walfinch-carers/ https://www.whzan.uk/walfinch-carers/#respond Tue, 07 Oct 2025 09:59:37 +0000 https://home.whzan.com/?p=222735 When a family in Milton Keynes noticed changes in their mother’s health, her care team at Walfinch Home Care were already one step ahead. Using the Whzan Blue Box, they carried out a series of quick wellbeing checks that showed clear signs something wasn’t right.

The readings – including oxygen levels, pulse, temperature and blood pressure produced a NEWS2 score, the NHS-recognised early warning system for detecting clinical deterioration. With this evidence, carers were able to effectively communicate their concerns, leading to a hospital admission and timely medical attention.

For Alison, whose mother was receiving care, the swift action of Walfinch’s team meant her family had valuable extra time together. “Without the Blue Box checks, Mum might have died alone in her flat,” she said in an interview with Milton Keynes Citizen.

Supporting carers with the right tools

At Whzan Digital Health, we believe that technology should strengthen the relationship between carers and the people they support. The Whzan Blue Box enables carers to take accurate observations, record data securely, and share it with health professionals when needed.

For Walfinch, it’s become part of their approach to proactive, person-centred care – helping teams identify changes early and act quickly when health concerns arise.

Partnership in practice

Walfinch are now extending the use of Whzan across their network, embedding wellness checks into everyday care and community initiatives such as their Thrive Clubs. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to safer, more connected care that empowers carers and benefits those they support.

Quietly proud

Stories like Alison’s show how combining clinical insight with professional care can make a real difference. We’re proud to provide the tools that help dedicated care teams like Walfinch deliver safer, more responsive care across the UK.
